Funding questions
Which option is right for me?+
If you're employed and want to upskill, the funded qualifications are almost always the best choice — they're completely free. If you want a shorter, focused course, the professional short courses fit within most employer L&D budgets. If you're changing career entirely, the 14-week bootcamps offer intensive training with flexible payment options.
Can my employer pay for my training?+
Yes, in several ways. For funded qualifications, the Growth & Skills Levy covers the full cost — your employer doesn't pay anything extra. For short courses, most employers will cover the £1,295-£2,995 fee through their L&D or personal development budget. We provide invoices and training agreements to make this easy.
What is the Growth & Skills Levy?+
The Growth & Skills Levy (formerly Apprenticeship Levy) is a UK government scheme. Employers with a payroll above £3 million pay 0.5% into a digital account, which can only be used for approved training. Smaller employers get 95% government funding. Either way, the training is free for the learner.
What if I can't afford a bootcamp upfront?+
We offer deferred payment — you don't pay until you're employed and earning above £25,000. You can also pay in monthly instalments over 12, 24, or 36 months. We also occasionally offer bursaries for learners facing financial hardship.
Do I need to be employed to access funded training?+
For funded qualifications, yes — you need to be employed under PAYE in England. For the Skills Bootcamp, you can be employed or recently unemployed. For bootcamps and short courses, there's no employment requirement.
What if I'm self-employed?+
The Growth & Skills Levy doesn't apply to self-employed learners (it requires PAYE employment). However, Applied Diplomas (HTQ) and professional short courses are open to everyone, including self-employed people. Skills Bootcamp eligibility may also apply — contact us to check your circumstances.
Can I pay after I get a job?+
Yes — our Applied Diploma programmes (HTQ) offer a deferred payment option. You don't pay a penny until you're employed and earning above £25,000. The deferred fee is £9,500-£11,000, paid as a small percentage of income once you hit the threshold. No debt collectors, no interest — just a straightforward deferred arrangement.
