Data & AI Coach

You've built expertise in data analytics, data governance or business analysis, on real problems. Now you want to coach other people to do the same. If you haven't coached before, we'll train you.

How the role works

You'll start on our data analytics Skills Bootcamp, coaching career changers into data roles. After that you'll move on to coaching apprentices: working professionals who stay in their jobs and apply what they learn to real problems in their own organisation. The mix of programmes you deliver will depend on your background and on what we're running. Depending on your experience, you may lead a cohort or coach alongside a lead coach.

On the Skills Bootcamp

• Teach live sessions to a cohort of career changers, including in person at our Liverpool Street office
• Run one-to-ones, drop-ins and office hours, and catch anyone who is slipping early
• Mark submissions using our AI-assisted flow in iO Academy: review the draft, make the final judgement against each criterion, and write feedback learners can act on
• Run suitability conversations with new joiners and exit interviews as learners complete or move on
• Put additional learning support (ALS) plans into practice and teach inclusively, so everyone can access the material whatever their starting point
• Give information, advice and guidance (IAG) on progress and next steps
• Support learners into data roles: CVs, portfolios and interviews
• Run and record interventions when a learner needs support, and keep contact and progress up to date in Aptem

On our apprenticeships

• Run live group coaching sessions built on scenarios and direct feedback, not slides
• Carry a caseload and know every learner on it
• Hold a monthly one-to-one with each learner
• Run quarterly reviews with the learner and their employer
• Mark work within 48 hours, including the portfolio evidence that counts towards the qualification
• Run suitability conversations with new joiners
• Keep the records a regulated, inspected provider needs

What you'll need

• Deep, hands-on expertise in at least one of: data analytics (SQL, Excel, Power BI), data protection and governance, or business analysis
• An engaging presenter, in the room and on a video call: you hold attention, read the group and keep people involved
• The ability to explain technical ideas to non-technical people without talking down to them
• An inclusive approach: you adapt so learners with different needs and starting points all get there
• Organisation and an eye for detail, because someone's qualification depends on the evidence holding up
• The Level 3 Award in Education and Training (AET) or equivalent, or readiness to complete it. We fund it
• Experience delivering Skills Bootcamps or apprenticeships is a bonus, not a requirement
